* update - we learned a really great lesson from our farmers today *
- one of our neighborhood farmers were super supportive of the kids conservation efforts and want them to know that they are on board!! thank you to Mr. Backus for 28 acres of regenerative land filled with fields of milkweed!!!
we learned that the milkweed at the edge of his property is too close to the Oriental Fruit Moth spray used in his peach fields so he can grow food. mowing it down actually helps the monarchs find the healthy plants nearby to lay their eggs.
